DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) is the body’s genetic ‘blueprint’ from which an individual’s characteristics are determined. DNA paternity tests are most often used to positively identify relationships between people and it can be used to establish if a man is the actual biological father of a child.
The Independent General Practice provides a testing service for DNA and paternity testing via a company called Cellmark. Cellmark provide our doctors with the testing kit, which is then sent to Cellmark's labs for analysis.
