 Family Planning and Contraception The IGP can explain to you all available methods of contraception including risks and benefits, and then tailor your contraception to suit your current lifestyle, health and family history. Pregnancy and Postnatal Care From pre-conception counselling, to the detection of pregnancy, through to antenatal care including advice on diet and keeping healthy throughout your pregnancy. For choice in delivery the IGP can organise referral to the Birth Centre (an NHS facility in Caerphilly) which is a midwife only service, involving obstetricians only when absolutely necessary. After your delivery we can also offer postnatal care, including a six week post natal check and counselling/realistic advice for new mums. |
